Biography

Darren is the Head of Treasury Management and Managing Director at Fullerton Fund Management Company Ltd. He is responsible for the portfolio management of Treasury products, liquidity management, and oversees trade implementation teams. Darren is one of the Asset Heads and a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. He is also involved in strategic initiatives relating to policies, business development, and systems management.

Darren has more than 25 years of working experience in the fund management industry. Prior to joining Fullerton Fund Management, he was involved in various facets within the asset management division; for Morgan Grenfell and Deutsche Asset Management. He started his working career in 1997 as a Management Trainee, held supervisory responsibilities across various functional lines, and helmed investment verticals in the Asia Pacific region.

He is active and passionate in contributing to the transformation of the Singapore financial sector. Darren has spent more than 15 years growing the Cash and Liquidity funds. He has been instrumental in partnering the industry to launch two innovative investment solutions; namely the intraday T0 liquidity fund and periodic income distribution cash fund. Singapore’s money market funds have grown significantly in recent years, and Darren continues to create awareness and feature his sharing in newspapers and educational forums.

Darren also contributes and serves on committees of Asian financial exchanges. He works alongside regulated Equity and Derivative exchanges, to provide advisory on capital formation, Retail participation, market surveillance, and market microstructures. In the past 5 years, he has worked on a series of Foreign Exchange hedging programs for a few iconic bonds listed on the SGX.

Darren is a CPA holder of the Certified Practicing Accountants Australia. In 1997, he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce, from Murdoch University (Australia). He was awarded a corporate scholarship in 2005 and pursued Master of Science in Wealth Management with the Singapore Management University. In 2010, Darren also received Master of Advanced Business Practice from the University of South Australia.
