Biography

Choo Oi Yee has over 20 years of experience in capital markets. Her career has been marked by significant contributions to the development of new financial products and asset classes, including real estate investment trusts (REITs) and business trusts in the 2000s, and more recently, fintech innovations aimed at democratizing individual investments in private market assets. Since 2020, Oi Yee has served as the Chief Commercial Officer and subsequently the Chief Executive Officer of ADDX, a regulated private markets platform, demonstrating a deep passion for leveraging technology to enhance financial inclusion and Singapore’s capital markets capabilities. Prior to 2020, she was in investment banking for more than 2 decades, most recently the head of Singapore Investment Banking for UBS.  Oi Yee also sits on the boards of Capitaland Ascendas REIT, Urban Redevelopment Authority as well as Financial Industry Disputes Resolution Centre Ltd (FiDReC). 

Oi Yee has been involved as a member of the IBF Capital and Financial Markets Workgroup since 2019. Since then, she had contributed to skills development for capital and financial markets segment, Future Skills Accelerator, identification and discussion of impacted roles, adjacent jobs and cross-sector conversion opportunities, discussions and identification of new / emerging skills critical for professionals in financial and capital markets. She was recently also the Chairperson of Digital Workstream, working closely with IBF and Workstream members to identify key trends, skills focus and skills framework refresh, in particular areas relating to blockchain and more recently Gen AI. 

She was also involved in Project Guardian, a collaborative initiative by MAS to bring together policymakers and the financial industry on the feasibility of applications in asset tokenisation and DeFi while managing risks to financial stability and integrity, and supported the initiatves at the roundtables at Point Zero in 2022 and 2023.
