Biography

​Anthony Seow joined DBS in June 2013 and is currently Managing Director and Head of Payments and Platforms for DBS Singapore Consumer Banking Group. 

He leads the bank's retail payment and unsecured lending businesses and oversees DBS' multi-channel strategy for e-commerce and digital payments. This includes creating digital wallets and apps that are part of an ecosystem where other services can be layered on, beyond facilitating transactions. Anthony is also in charge of merchant payment solutions. 

Under his watch, DBS PayLah! – launched in 2014 as Singapore's first digital wallet – has become the nation's most popular lifestyle platform with more than 2.2 million users. DBS is also now Singapore's largest cards provider with some five million cards in circulation. 

The DBS Payment & Platforms team has also pioneered several industry firsts, including POSB Smart Buddy Programme – the world's first integrated in-school wearable digital savings and payment programme; QR digital gifting and payment; and payment control for cards, which provides cardholders real-time control over their accounts. 

Prior to joining DBS, he was Regional Director for Affluent Products and covered the Asia Pacific, Central Europe, Middle East & Africa regions at VISA. He was responsible for growing its consumer affluent products business and worked with financial institutions to develop their affluent cards portfolios. 

Anthony has more than 20 years of experience in consumer financial and payments services, amassed across several leading financial services institutions. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from York University (Canada), and also sits on the AXS board. He is excited for what the future of banking has to offer.
