Shadab Taiyabi

Biography

Shadab leads enterprise-wide partnership initiatives for the CEO’s Office at HSBC Singapore, where he drives collaboration with public and private institutions to support the bank’s innovation and digital efforts. He also runs a cross-functional team of innovators exploring forward-looking solutions for the future of finance.

In addition to his role at HSBC, Shadab is the elected President of the Singapore FinTech Association (SFA), the national industry association and a cross-industry initiative designed to facilitate collaboration between all market participants and stakeholders in the FinTech ecosystem. Since his election in 2021, Shadab has led the SFA Executive Committee in shaping strategies to promote business growth, facilitate access to capital and opportunities as well as develop the FinTech talent pool.

During his tenure as SFA President, Shadab has been instrumental in launching and implementing initiatives such as the SG FinTech Club, the Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) framework, the Singapore FinTech Youth Chapter, the setup of Strategic Advisory Council, and new subcommittees focusing on payments, Web3 and Insurtech.

Shadab has over 18 years of experience working in the financial services industry with over 14 years at FinTech companies. He has a strong track record of growing businesses in the fintech space and is a thought-leader across multiple diverse fintech segments such as wealthtech, insurtech, payments, digital financing as well as web3.0 applications in financial services.

He also serves as an Observer on the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) Payments Council, contributing to discussions on driving e-payment adoption and interoperability in Singapore. Additionally, Shadab has been a member of the IMAS Digital Innovation Committee, which advocates and promotes the adoption of digital technology and innovation within the asset management industry.
